KB46047: New Feature in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1 Hotfix 1: Import MicroStrategy mstr file

A Strategy mstr file is a file that contains the entire Strategy dashboard, including visualizations, filters, and so on, as well as the associated Intelligent Cube. Its purpose is to share documents with other users, so they can modify, the imported dashboard, create new dashboards with the imported Intelligent Cube, and so on.
 
In Strategy Web 9.4.1 Hotfix 1, users now have the ability to import a Strategy Dashboard in the ".mstr" format. Dashboards in this format are currently exported from Strategy Analytics Express and Strategy Analytics Desktop. To import a Dashboard using this feature, take the following steps:
 

• On the Home page of Strategy Web 9.4.1 HF 1, click the "Import Strategy File" button, as shown below.
   
  

• This will prompt the user to locate an ".mstr" file on their disk.
• Locate the file and click "Open".
• After the Dashboard is successfully imported, the user will be prompted with the dialog shown below, where they can click "OK" to be taken to My Reports, or click "View Dashboard" to directly open the Dashboard.
