SYMPTOM
In Strategy Enterprise Manager 9.4.x and 9.5.x, when users try to add a project for configuring data load, the following error is received. In this case, a project source with a particular project is already being monitored and the user is now trying to add a duplicate of the same project, but from a different project source.
The project is already monitored from a different project source. It cannot be selected.
CAUSE
This is a known limitation with Strategy Enterprise Manager console 9.3.1 - 9.4.x. Starting with Strategy 9.3.1, it is possible to duplicate a project retaining the original project GUID. This is allowed when duplicating the project to a different metadata. However, Strategy Enterprise Manager Console 9.3.1 - 9.4.x does not check the GUID of the metadata in the project sources being added and just checks the project GUID. Since the same project is already being monitored on the console, it does not allow the users to add a project with the same GUID again.
ACTION
In Strategy Secure Analytics Enterprise 10.x, a new monitoring level has been included so each Metadata repository can be identified with its own GUID. Therefore, montoring 2 projects with the same GUID existing in separate Metadata repositories can be done.
Upgrade to the Strategy 10.x suite to take advantage of this enhancement.
