KB46087: The error message “This content requires the Adobe Flash Player” is displayed when viewing a DHTML-based Heat Map from a client without Adobe Flash Player in MicroStrategy Web 9.x.

This technical note describes an issue when trying to run a Heat Map in MicroStrategy Web 9.x Report Services document. The action to resolve this issue is to upgrade your environment to MicroStrategy Enterprise Platform 10.x in order to use the HTML5 version of the Heat Map widget.

SYMPTOM:
Although a DHTML-based Heat Map is incorporated in a Report Services document, the following error message is displayed when viewing the document from a client without Adobe Flash Player as follows:

This content requires the Adobe Flash Player version 10.1 or higher. Get Flash
 
CAUSE:
An enhancement request has been logged to support a flash free DHTML version of Heat Map.
 
ACTION:
Strategy 10 includes a new HTML5 based version of the Heat Map widget. Upgrade to take advantage of the enhancement.
