KB46090: "Task exceeded the maximum wait time of 10000ms" error occurs when adding large dataset to Visual Insight Dashboard in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1 and above

SYMPTOM
In Strategy Visual Insight 9.4.1, when attempting to add a long running dataset to the Dashboard, the operation aborts with the following error message.
 

Task exceeded the maximum wait time of 1000ms

 
CAUSE
The task wait time exceeds the default maximum wait time for tasks of 10000ms. 
 
ACTION
Increase the default wait time. Open sys_defaults.xml from /WEB-INF/xml and modify the following line:
  

<pr des="" n="defaultMaxWaitInTask" scp="system" v="10000"/>

 
 Restart the Web Application Server after applying the change.
