KB46092: In a MicroStrategy Intelligence Server 9.2.x - 9.4.1 clustered environment, some subscriptions associated to a schedule are not delivered and the ones that are delivered, are delivered multiple times

SYMPTOM
In a Strategy Intelligence Server 9.2.x - 9.4.1 clustered environment, it is observed that all subscriptions associated to a schedule are not delivered; the subscriptions which are delivered, are delivered multiple times. Also, it is noticed that this issue is intermittent; the subscriptions work as expected on some days.
 
Strategy Intelligence Server 9.2.x - 9.4.1 is configured with the following two settings applied:

• User Affinity Cluster
• Subscription Load Balancing

CAUSE
This is a known issue in Strategy Intelligence Server 9.2.x - 9.4.1. This issue is not seen for all subscriptions, but is seen when specific conditions are met and it also depends on whether or not users subscribed to the subscriptions are logged in to the Strategy Intelligence Servers at the time of subscription execution. The latter factor contributes to the issue being seen intermittently.
 
ACTION
This issue has been fixed in Strategy Intelligence Server 9.4.1 Hotfix 3. Upgrade to this version to take advantage of the fix.
 
WORKAROUND
 
The issue is not seen if "User Affinity Cluster" is checked but "subscription load balancing" unchecked.
