SYMPTOM
In Strategy Enterprise Manager, the database instance corresponding to some report executions is seen as <DELETED DB INSTANCE>

Upon further examination, it is seen that the DB Instance name is correctly seen for reports which run against the warehouse and for reports which hit a report cache (these jobs show the database instance corresponding to the job which created the original report cache).

CAUSE
This is a known issue with Strategy Enterprise Manager 9.x. The database instance name is seen as <DELETED DB INSTANCE' for the execution of view reports i.e., reports which run against Intelligent Cubes. Since view reports don't run against a warehouse, there is no database instance ID recorded for these report jobs. During the data load process, i.e., when data is migrated from the statistics tables to the IS_REP_FACT table, the database instance ID is recorded as -1 and this ID corresponds to a deleted database instance

ACTION
Strategy will continue to investigate and post updates as soon as they are available.
