• Strategy

SYMPTOM:

Distribution Services schedules edited using the ALTER SCHEDULE Command Manager outline are triggering on incorrect days in Strategy 9.x. This issue persists even after an Intelligence Server restart.

For example, a Distribution Services schedule configured to only trigger on Mondays at 6 AM will trigger at 6 AM every day of the week after being edited using the ALTER SCHEDULE Command Manager outline.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

Using Strategy Tutorial 9.x:
1. Create a schedule named "Weekly Every Monday 6am".
2. Create a subscription that uses the "Weekly Every Monday 6am" schedule.
3. Use the following Command Manager command to change the schedule start date to a future date:

ALTER SCHEDULE "Weekly Every Monday 6am" STARTDATE 01/01/2020;

4. Use the following Command Manager command to change the schedule start date to a previous date:
ALTER SCHEDULE "Weekly Every Monday 6am" STARTDATE 01/01/2014;

5. Wait until 6am the next day. The schedule will be triggered even if it is not Monday.

CAUSE:

This is a known issue with the ALTER SCHEDULE Command Manager outline in Strategy 9.x.

ACTION:

This issue has been addressed in Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 Hotfix 4. Upgrade to this version to take advantage of the fix.

WORKAROUND:

Edit the Distribution Services Schedule using Strategy Desktop/Developer.
