KB46232: What is the function of “save exported results for interactive executions sent to history list” option in History Settings when file based History List is used in MicroStrategy Intelligence Server 9.x and 10.x?

In file based History List, what is the function if the option “save exported results for interactive executions sent to history list” is checked in Strategy Intelligence Server 9.x and 10.x?
 
The option “save exported results for interactive executions sent to history list” is to create History List messages for Report Services documents that are exported to other formats. The detailed behaviors are as below.
 
 
 

1. Send document 3 to history list.
2. The corresponding message is saved in the inbox folder, as shown below.
3. Go to History list on Web.
4. Export the History List message to PDF.
5. A PDF file is saved to the inbox folder.
6. Export the History List message to Excel.
7. A XSL file is saved to the inbox folder. The PDF file disappears. This option only keeps the latest format.

            The exported results saved in History List repository don't count towards the maximum number of messages per user.
