"[Failed to execute:ALTER TABLE DSSMDLNKPROP ADD PRIMARY KEY (LINKITEM_ID, PROPSET_ID, PROP_ID, VAL_SEQ)]" error message appears when upgrading the metadata from MicroStrategy 9.4.1

SYMPTOM:

When upgrading a Strategy metadata from version 9.3.0 to version 9.4.1 the error message below is seen:

ka02R000000kYQRQA2_0EM440000002CQ6.png

Sample Code/Error
Failed to execute: 'ALTER TABLE DSSMDLNKPROP ADD PRIMARY KEY (LINKITEM_ID, PROPSET_ID, PROP_ID, VAL_SEQ)' Execute Query Failed. Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLExecDirect. ORA-02437:cannot validate (MSTR_METADATA_ADHOC_921.SYS_C0087986) - primary key violated

CAUSE:

This error occurs because there are duplicate values in the column which the DSSMDLNKPROP table uses as the primary key.  The primary key of a table should only contain unique values.   This also hints at the table missing the necessary primary key constraints.

ACTION:

Please contact Strategy Technical Support for assistance in identifying and resolving the duplicate rows.
