KB46320: "This operation is not supported in this environment" error message appears when using an UPDATE STRUCTURE outline in MicroStrategy Command Manager 9.4.1 in a UNIX environment.

When copying an UPDATE STRUCTURE statement that successfully runs in MicroStrategy Command Manager on Windows, and executing in Command Manager on a UNIX environment, the following error message is seen: This operation is not supported in this environment.

SYMPTOM:
When copying an UPDATE STRUCTURE statement that successfully runs in Strategy Command Manager on Windows, and executing in Command Manager on a UNIX environment, the following error message is seen:


This operation is not supported in this environment.

CAUSE:
This is a known limitation in Strategy Command Manager on a UNIX environment.
Strategy Command Manager 9.x provides cross-platform support, which means that it can be executed on every certified Operating System where the Strategy Intelligence Server runs. However there are some commands that can be executed only from a Windows machine.
