KB46422: The dynamic text parameter {&VALUE} for graph tooltips does not resolve for the Bubble or Scatter graphs in MicroStrategy Web 9.3.1 and above.

SYMPTOM:
 
In Strategy Web 9.3.1, users can modify the contents of a graph tooltip by using various dynamic text parameters, such as {&SERIESLABEL}, {&GROUPLABEL}, {&VALUE}, as seen below:

However, if the {&VALUE} parameter is used with a graph that requires more than one value to create a data point, such as with a Bubble graph or a Scatter graph, this parameter does not display any values in the tooltip, as seen below:
 

 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow these steps to reproduce this issue in Strategy Tutorial.

1. Create a bubble graph with any 3 metrics and an attribute.
2. Right-click on the graph and go to Format > Format > Series Values.
3. Modify the tooltip to display "{&VALUE}" and click OK.
4. Hover over any bubble in the graph and notice that nothing displays for the Value parameter.

CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy Web 9.3.1.
 
ACTION:
This issue was reviewed by our Technology team for feasibility and will not be scoped for a code fix in any upcoming Strategy release.
