KB46477: "No drill path found" error message shows when trying to drill on an attribute in MicroStrategy 9.x even when the drill path is defined in the drill map.

Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

"No drill path found" error message shows when trying to drill on an attribute in MicroStrategy 9.x even when the drill path is defined in the drill map.

SYMPTOM:

When user tries to drill an attribute after the report has been executed, "No drill path found" message is displayed instead of default drilling directions even when drill path for the attribute has been established. Steps to reproduce are shown below:

  • As shown below, a custom drill path for the attributes "Year', and "Distribution Center' has been established.

  • However, even after the dril map has been configured, drilling from the attribute "Distribution Center" shows no specific drill path, but only displays "No drill path found" message.
