"Error updating EM_LOG : Error executing SQL :Execute Query failed" error message appears in the MSTRMigration.log after a data load fails in Enterprise Manager when the database resides in Oracle in MicroStrategy 9.x.

SYMPTOM:

When a user performs a data load through the Enterprise Manager console in Strategy 9.x, the data load fails with a "Missing keyword" error printed in the MSTRMigration.log file.

Error updating EM_LOG : Error executing SQL :Execute Query failed.
Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLExecDirect. Invalid Position.INSERT INTO EM_LOG VALUES (sysdate, 'Fact Migration: Transaction 9 of 14; Sequence 1 of 1.
Error executing SQL :Execute Query failed.
Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLExecDirect. ORA-00905: missing keywordINSERT INTO IS_REP_FACT

CAUSE:

The data load fails because of an Oracle SQL execution error due to a value in the EM_SQL table. The current observation is that single quotes have been replaced by double quotes around some values, which cause issues when executing a query. During a data load, the SQL statements executed are resolved from the EM_SQL table. If the statements in this table are changed, the data loader will produce a SQL statement with an incorrect syntax. Strategy Technical support has not determined the root cause for values changing in the EM_SQL table.

ACTION:

Contact Strategy Technical support with the results for the SQL statement provided below and a copy of the MSTRMigration.log file.

SELECT EM_SQL FROM EM_SQL WHERE EM_TRANS_ID = 9 AND EM_SEQ_ID = 1 AND EM_SQL_TYPE = 4 AND EM_DB_ID=3
