When starting an Intelligence Server running on UNIX/Linux from the command line, there is no confirmation received by the user after the Intelligence Server has started in MicroStrategy 9.x and 10.x

SYMPTOM:

When starting an Intelligence Server running on UNIX/Linux from the command line (using the 'mstrctl' command), there is no confirmation received by the user after the Intelligence Server has started in Strategy 9.x and 10.x. The same is observed when stopping the Intelligence Server via Command Line.

CAUSE:

This is working as designed. After executing the 'mstrctl' command, the user is returned to the command line. To check the status of the Intelligence Server, the following command should be executed.

mstrctl -s IntelligenceServer gs

An enhancement request has been logged to increase the capabilities of the 'mstrctl' command to include a confirmation when the Intelligence Server has sucessfully entered the running/stopped state.

ACTION:
Strategy will continue to investigate and post updates as soon as they are available.
