This article explains the setting called "Overwrite user-specified credentials when applying configuration" which can be seen for both server and project authentication in MicroStrategy Mobile 9.4.1 and 10.x.

The Strategy Mobile Configuration page contains a setting called Overwrite user-specified credentials when applying configuration for both server and project authentication, as shown:

This setting allows any credentials saved on Strategy Mobile devices to be overwritten by those specified on the configuration page when the device uses the new configuration link.

  • If this option is selected, then credentials specified in the mobile configuration will be used (even it has empty credentials). Thereby, any user-input credentials on the device will be overwritten.
  • If this option is not selected, and if the user has added/updated credentials on the device, these will retained. If there are no credentials stored on the device, then configuration credentials will be used.
