KB46783: The error "The UserId, Password or Account is invalid" occurs in MicroStrategy 9.x and 10.x against Teradata 13.10 warehouse when using database authentication with a password that contains special characters like = + # % !

 
SYMPTOM:
 
In Strategy 9.x and 10.x,while using database authentication against  a Teradata 13.10 warehouse , the following error is thrown in Strategy Developer, Strategy Web or in the DB Query Tool if the login or password contains special characters like  = + # % !, as shown below:
 
 
 

 
 
 
In the DSSErrors log the following entries are registered:
 
2014-03-10 05:57:45.407-05:00 Failed to connect to data source. Error message: Connect failed.
Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLDriverConnect. The UserId, Password or Account is invalid. Not enough information to log on Connection String:
DSN=XXXXX;UID=XXXXXX;
 
 
CAUSE:
 
This is a known issue in Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1.
 
 
ACTION:
Strategy will continue to investigate and post updates as soon as they are available.
