This article shows an option to create a grouping title for multiple Metrics within a report in MIcroStrtaegy

SCENARIO:
A Developer wishes to include a group of Metrics to a report and wants to display a general title for the group of Metrics.
SOLUTION:

  • Create a dummy Attribute with an Applysimple to display the text ‘CA’ in our example.
Open bracket, Double quotes, single quote, text, single quote, double quotes, close bracket. (“’CA’”)

  • Create a Template with your group of Metrics, in this example, we will use Revenue and Average Revenue.
  • Modify the Metrics on the template to include the CA attribute level set to Filtering Ignore and Grouping None.

  •
Do this for all the Metrics on the Template.
  • Finally, go to the Data tab > Report Data Options > select the Alias field of the CA attribute and press ‘space bar’. This will create a blank name for the attribute and avoid it being displayed on the template header. Thus only the text in the applysimple will display:-
