When adding a filter object to a report as embedded, the components of the filter object can be displayed on a non-recursive report components search in Strategy Developer 9.4.x-10.x.  Follow the below example using the Strategy Tutorial project in Strategy Developer 9.4.1.

  • Open the report in design view and locate the desired filter object in the Object Browser. In this example, "Select a Month" filter object will be used with attribute "Call Center" and metric "Revenue" on the template. Note that the attribute "Month" is not on the report template or in report objects.

  • Right click on the filter object and select "Add to report filter as embedded"

  • Save and Close this report.

  • Right click on the report and select "Search for Components..."

  • Note that the attribute "Month" appears on the components list even though it's not in the report objects. This is because it is a component of the filter object "Select a Month" which is now embedded in the report.
