KB46830: What are the Intelligence Server level privileges and why do they not appear for certain security roles in MicroStrategy 9.x?

This knowledge base article outlines the Intelligence server level privileges.

QUESTION:
What are the Intelligence Server level privileges and why do they not appear for certain security roles in Strategy 9.x?

ANSWER:
When creating a security role, the user is not allowed to grant privileges to use the different Server Monitors. This is because the use of Server Monitors is a server-wide privilege and is not project related. Server-wide privileges can only be set at the user or group level. The server-wide privileges are as follows (numbering is based on Strategy 9.4.1).

  • 7. Deliveries
    • Configure contacts data security profile
    • Create and edit transmitters and devices
  • 13. Command Manager

    • Create and edit database logins
    • Create and edit schedules and events
    • Create and edit security roles
    • Create and edit users and groups
    • Create configuration objects
    • Enable Intelligence Server administration from Web
