Rows are missing when exporting a grid in outline mode with subtotals enabled in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1.

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Web 9.4.1, rows are missing when exporting a grid in outline mode with subtotals enabled. This issue does not occur when there are no totals, or when the grid is in normal view mode instead of outline mode.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
To reproduce this issue in Strategy Tutorial, follow these steps:

  • Create a report with Employee, Manager, Year, Month, and Revenue.
  • Create a new blank document and add the report from Step 1 as a dataset.
  • Add a grid to the detail header section, with Employee and Manager in the rows, and Year, Month, and Revenue in the columns, as shown below:

  • Enable totals and outline mode.
  • Execute the document. Notice that in Strategy Web, more than 27 employees are displayed, as shown below:

  • Export the document to Excel. Notice the data cuts off after 27 employees, as shown below:

CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy Web 9.4.1.

ACTION:
Please install Hotfix 6.
The issue is fixed in Strategy 9.4.1 Hotfix 6.

WORKAROUND:
Because this behavior only occurs when exporting a grid in Outline Mode with subtotals enabled, users can disable one or both of those settings to work around the issue.
