"QueryEngine encountered error: HTTP Communication error reported by libcurl: The service is unavailable" error message appears when executing multiple reports simultaneously in MicroStrategy Developer against Microsoft Analysis Service cube.

SYMPTOM:

When user executes multiple reports at the same time against Microsoft Analysis Service cube, user encounters error message shown below:

ka02R000000kby2QAA_0EM440000002CNE.png

QueryEngine encountered error: XMLA Execute failed. SOAP Server Error. Error type: XMLA error. HTTP Communication error reported by libcurl: The service is unavailable.

For instance, if multiple users with different user IDs execute multiple reports at the same time in the production environment, the reports will execute accordingly. However, when  a single user ID executes multiple reports at the same time, the error message is encountered.

CAUSE:

This is a known issue in Strategy Developer 9.x.

ACTION:

Contact Strategy Technical Support for an update on this issue.

WORKAROUND:

Per each user ID, the user must execute each and every report/document running against MSAS Cube one by one.  A user ID selecting multiple reports and executing multiple reports at the same time will encounter an error message described above.
