Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

The default font for documents is changed to Tahoma when based off of a template that has the default font of Arial.

SYMPTOM:

On documents that are based on templates with the default font set to Arial, the default font is changed to Tahoma even though other default settings are retained.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  • Create a new Document.
  • Create a text box and set the font to Arial with size 14.
  • With text box selected, select Format->Set Control Default.

  • Delete the Text box and add a new one in.  The new text box will have the default font of Arial and size 14.
  • Delete the new text box and save the document as template in the Object Templates->Documents folder.
  • Create a new document based on this template.

  • Add a new text box in.  The text box will have default font size of 14 as expected but the font will be Tahoma instead of Arial.

CAUSE:

This is a known issue in Strategy 9.x.

ACTION:

Contact Strategy Technical Support for an update on this issue.

WORKAROUND:

This issue only occurs when setting the default font to Arial.  If the document requires the Arial font, users can manually set the default font to Arial before adding text to the document.
