SYMPTOM
The list of Certified and Supported configurations for every Strategy component can be found in the Strategy ReadMe. Every major release of the Strategy platform includes a ReadMe file with its installation that can be found on the local machine where a Strategy component was installed. However, the same information can be found in the Knowledge base as well. Hotfixes have separate ReadMe files located only in the Knowledge Base. These files list updates to the certified and supported configurations that are specific to the hotfix.
ACTION
To locate the list of Certified and Supported configurations, follow the steps below.
Listed on this page are all the certified and supported configurations available with Strategy Web and Mobile for the specified product version. Navigate to the desired configuration based on the Operating System, Browser, etc.
Certified vs. Supported
The differences between Certified and Supported are defined below.
Certified: The third-party component has been actively tested with the current release. All tests were passed with no significant issues that would prevent the use of any applicable Strategy features. Strategy expects any certified third-party component to be used successfully with any and all applicable Strategy functionality.
Supported: A third-party component that has been listed as supported is expected to be used successfully with any and all applicable Strategy functionality. A third-party component that is supported rather than certified means that its testing meets one or more of any of the following conditions:
Strategy also lists compatibility and interoperability considerations. To locate this information navigate to the "Compatibility and Interoperability" page from the Certified and Supported Configurations where a definition for both terms will be provided, like shown below.
Hotfixes
Hotfixes applied to Strategy versions will sometimes include updates to the list of certified and supported configurations. In the case of Strategy Web, where browser versions change rapidly, it is possible that the major release or service pack release ReadMe does not list a specific browser as being supported because the browser version was released after the Strategy version was released. However, if a hotfix for that version was released after the browser was released, it may include a certification update that includes that browser.
E.g. Strategy Web 9.3.0 was released before Microsoft Internet Explorer 10, thus Strategy 9.3.0 does not support IE 10. Hotfix 2 for Strategy Web 9.3.0 was released after IE 10 was released, thus 9.3.0 HF 2 contains an update that includes IE 10.
Note: If a Strategy version does not support some 3rd party component, the certification update can only occur on a later Strategy release, such as a later hotfix, service pack, or major release. Strategy will not post-certify software that was released after the Strategy component was released.
