KB47135: Ending (fact) level metric generates sum-up subtotal when there are sibling attributes on grid

Community Admin

• Strategy

Ending (fact) level metric generates sum-up subtotal when there are sibling attributes on grid.

Symptom

Ending (fact) level metric generates sum-up subtotal when there are sibling attributes on grid and the attributes are siblings via the attribute used in the level metric.

Steps to reproduce

     1.    Create ending(fact) level metric called “On Hand Qty New” with the definition of: Sum() {~, Month}

            NOTE: The ending fact is target on attribute Month.

     2.    Create a report called R1 with attribute Month of Year, Quarter, and Year in row, and metric On Hand Qty New in column.

NOTE: Attribute Quarter and MonthOfYear siblings via attribute Month as shown below:

     3.    Execute the R1, and notice the subtotal for Quarter 2010 Q1 should be 19,966 instead of 68,193; for Quarter 2010 Q2 should be 15,677 instead of 57,793.
