SYMPTOM:
After successfully compiled and installed a rebranded 9.4.1 Update 1 Android app following the latest documentation, a user may see the app launches but only a blank white screen is shown:
Examining the LogCat console shows no error messages.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow these steps to reproduce this issue:
1. Setup the Android project for the mobile app following the latest documentation, which can be found at: https://resource.microstrategy.com/MSDZ/MobileUpdates/941_iOSU3/docs/mergedProjects/mobile_sdk/topics/android/andr_Setting_Up_the_Mobile_Project.htm
2. Compile and deploy the app.
3. Observe the app launches successfully without errors but displays only a blank white screen as shown above.
CAUSE:
This is a known issue between Strategy Android app 9.4.1 Update 1 and the latest version of Google Play Service library (revision 17).
ACTION:
Contact Strategy Technical Support for an update on this issue.
WORKAROUND:
One possible workaround would be to use Google Play Service library for Froyo (version 3.2.65) to resolve this issue.
