KB47269: The Memory Contract Manager (MCM) logs entries to the DSSErrors.log file even when it is disabled on the Intelligence Server if "Minimum reserved memory (MBytes)" or "Minimum reserved memory (%)" are not set to zero in MicroStrategy 9.4.1

SYMPTOM:
 
When the Memory Contract Manager (MCM) is disabled but the "Minimum reserved memory (%)" or "Minimum reserved memory (MBytes)" are set to a non-zero value, the value of "Minimum reserved memory (MBytes)" would not be changed to 0 and the Intelligence Server keeps logging MCM messages to the DSSErrors.log file in Strategy Analytics 9.4.1.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
 

• In Strategy Developer, right-click on the 3-tier Project Souce and go to Intelligence Server Configuration > Governing Rules > Memory Settings.
• Set  the value of "Minimum reserved memory (%)" to a non-zero value. (10 for example)
   
  

• Uncheck the "Enable single memory allocation governing" setting and click "OK".
• Restart the Intelligence Server to apply the new settings and check the new governing settings again and notice that the "Minimum reserved memory (MBytes)" was not changed to zero.
   
  

• Execute a report and check the DSSErrors.log file. The user will notice that the MCM contract request messages are still being logged as shown below.

CAUSE:
 
This is a known issue in Strategy Analytics 9.4.1.
 
ACTION:
 
This issue has been addressed in Strategy 9.4.1 Hotfix 2. Apply the hotfix to take advantage of this fix.
