KB47279: In MicroStrategy Visual Insight 9.4.1, when trying to sort a metric on a graph visualisation, the sorting is not retained.

SYMPTOM:
The sorting is not applied to a Vertical Bar graph when done on a metric in a Visual Insight dahboard in Strategy 9.4.1.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

• Create a report with Category as the attribute and Profit as the metric
• Create a Visual Insight Dashboard using this report as dataset. Make sure to sort the metric as Ascending, like shown below:
  

• Set the visualisation to "Vertical Bar - Clustered" graph. Observe that the sorting is not retained
  

CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Visual Insight in Strategy Web 9.4.1. The sorting is not applied as it should to vertical bar graphs when doing the sorting on a metric. However, it works when sorting on an attribute:
ACTION:
The issue has been addressed in version 9.5.1. Please upgrade to take advantage of the fix.
WORKAROUND:
When using "Horizontal Bar - Clustered" graph as a design, the sorting is retained. This design can be used as a workaround.
