MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1 HF3 users might notice that when executing a document or dashboard that contains an ESRI Map configured with custom areas will show a failed HTTP call for the KML file

SYMPTOM:
Strategy Web 9.4.1 HF3 users might notice that when executing a document or dashboard that contains an ESRI Map configured with custom areas will show a failed HTTP call for the KML file in the following location:

$MicroStartegy_Web_Home/swf/$kmlfile.kml

The HTTP call will show as follows in a Fiddler Trace:

ka04W000000OaTcQAK_0EM440000002679.png

The ESRI Map will still render without issues.

CAUSE:
This is a known issue with ESRI Maps configured with custom shapes in Strategy Web 9.4.1 HF3. This background failed call is harmless and the map will still render the shapes without issues.

WORKAROUND:
If the failed call needs to be avoided, the Strategy Web Administrator can place the KML file in the swf location as well.
