"This content requires the Adobe Flash Player" error message appears when viewing a Visual Insight dashboard within an HTML container in a RS Document in MicroStrategy Mobile 9.x and 10.x

SYMPTOM:
Users can display a Visual Insight dashboard within a Strategy document by putting it in an HTML container. This works in Strategy Web 9.x and 10.x. However, the same document viewed on a Strategy Mobile 9.x and 10.x device will show the following error:

ka04W000000OdXAQA0_0EM440000002A5F.png

Sample Code/Error
This content requires the Adobe Flash Player version 10.1 or higher. Get Flash.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
To reproduce this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Create a document in Strategy Web.
  2. Add an HTML container to the document.
  3. Right-click on the container to go to "Properties & Formatting".
  4. Select the "IFrame" option, and input the URL for a Visual Insight dashboard into the "IFrame Source" container.
Note: to get the URL for a VI dashboard, navigate to it, right-click on it, and select Share > Show link.
  5. Run the document in Strategy Web Notice the analysis appears.
  6. Run the document in Strategy Mobile. Notice the Adobe Flash error.

CAUSE:
When the Visual Insight analysis is put within an HTML container, it tries to render as an html page, which in turn tries to render using Adobe Flash. However, Adobe Flash is not currently supported on Apple iOS devices.
WORKAROUND:
Create an Edit Links link that navigates the user to the visual insight dashboard instead of displaying it within the html container in the document.
