KB47552: Certification of MicroStrategy ODBC driver for Apache Hive Wire Protocol with Apache Hadoop Hive 0.12 in MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1

This is a post-certification since the testing was performed after the release of MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1. Therefore, the certification information (tabulated below) is not present in the MicroStrategy  Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 General Information Readme file.

Hive 0.12 is certified with Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1. The Strategy ODBC driver for Apache Hive Wire Protocol is certified as a driver to connect to Hive 0.12. This certification status currently applies to Strategy Intelligence Server 9.4.1 running on AIX, Solaris, HP-UX, Linux and Windows operating systems. Also, this certification status currently applies to Warehouse configurations only - it does not apply to Metadata, Statistics or Strategy Narrowcast Server.
  
This is a post-certification since the testing was performed after the release of Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1. Therefore, the certification information (tabulated below) is not present in the Strategy  Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 General Information Readme file.
  
This post-certification includes all Hadoop distributions based on Hive 0.12, which at the time of publication is:

  • HortonWorks HDP 2.0
  • Cloudera CDH 5.0 and 5.1
  • MapR 3.x and 4.x
  • Pivotal HD 2.0.1 and 2.1.0

 
The following is the driver certification information for Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 on Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris and HP-UX operating systems. Contact Strategy Technical Support to obtain the driver libraries. The out-of-the-box Strategy ODBC driver for Apache Hive Wire Protocol version 7.10.01.80 shipped with Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 is not supported for Apache Hadoop Hive 0.12.
