Users might notice that images in a dashboard are not rendered after killing & restarting the application, even when the image cache is available in MicroStrategy Mobile 9.4.1 Update 3. This is fixed in MicroStrategy Mobile 9.4.1 Update 4.

SYMPTOM:
Users might notice that images in a dashboard are not rendered after killing & restarting the application, even when the image cache is available in Strategy Mobile 9.4.1 Update 3.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Configure a new mobile server and launch the app.
  2. Run any document with images to see if all the images are displayed correctly.
  3. Make sure that the "Clear On Close" setting is set to OFF.
  4. Kill the app, then restart it.
  5. See that the images are not displayed and the loading icon never disappears:

CAUSE:
This is known issue in Strategy Mobile 9.4.1 iOS Update 3.

ACTION:
This is fixed in Strategy Mobile 9.4.1 iOS Update 4. Upgrade app to this release to take advantage of the fix.

WORKAROUND:
The issue only occurs when you do kill the app and restart it. If this action is not performed, the issue will not occur.
The issue also occurs with more frequency if the image source uses a double-dot relative path notation, e.g. "../myfolder/subfolder/image.jpg". Users may find that if the path is modified to use a single-dot relative path (e.g. "./subfolder/image.jpg") or an absolute path (e.g. "http://webserver.com/myfolder/subfolder/image.jpg"), the issue occurs with less frequency.
One final way to avoid the issue is to set "Clear on Close" = ON in order to delete the device caches anytime the app is closed.
