KB47758: ESRI Map stays in loading state when configured to display areas in Flash mode document or Visual Insight Dashboard when using an ESRI on-premise configuration for MicroStrategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 HF3

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Web 9.4.1 HF3 users will notice that when executing a document that contains an ESRI Map with areas the map will stay spinning or in a loading state indefinitely as shown below:
 

 
 
The ESRI Map is configured to display using areas as shown below:
 

 
 
 
Additionally, the map will render correctly in DHTML modes as shown below: 
 
 

 
Note: This issue only occurs when ESRI is set up using an on-premise configuration. For more information on how to enable or disable Cloud maps for ESRI refer to KB46932: How to disable Cloud Maps when configuring ESRI Maps for MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1
 
 
CAUSE:
This is a known issue with ESRI Maps in on-premise configurations for Strategy Web 9.4.1 HF3 for Flash run modes.
 
ACTION:
This issue has been addressed in Strategy Analytics Enterprise 9.4.1 HF6. Update to this version to take advantage of the fix.
 
WORKAROUND:
If upgrading is not possible use one of the two following workarounds:

1. Use ESRI in a cloud configuration. Refer to the following technote on how to enable and disable ESRI Cloud Maps KB46932: How to disable Cloud Maps when configuring ESRI Maps for MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1
2. Use the Report Services Document in Express or Interactive Mode.
