KB47824: Failed to publish intelligent cube due to error "Data type conversion failed: from DSS type to native type" in MicroStrategy Developer 9.4.1

SYMPTOM:

Then user fails to publish an intelligent cube because of the following error message:


Error: Data type conversion failed: from DSS type native type. Database type: Engine Logic: Generate SQL for
attribute from expression failed. please check if the expression is valid.
Error in Process method of Component:
SQLEngineServer, Projct xxx. Job 82652,Error Code=-2147212800.

CAUSE:

One possible cause of the issue is that the user has changed the Database Connection type to another one by accident. As a result, incorrect SQL is generated by the function used in attribute form expression.

ACTION:

The issue can be resolved by correcting the Database Connection type in Database Instance editor.
