This article details the error received while doing data import when the web server has been configured to port 87

SYMPTOM:
Strategy Web 9.4.1 administrators can configure their Web Server to listen to specific ports for the HTTP protocols. These configurations are done in third-party products and are outside of Strategy Technical Support scope.

In non-conventional environments, Strategy Web 9.4.1 users might notice the following error when trying to do File Import in the Data Import menu:

Null

    Null

In this scenario the HTTP port configured in the Web Server used by Strategy is port 87.

CAUSE:

Data Import in Strategy Web 9.4.1 is based on Adobe Flash Action Script. Adobe Flash has a list of blocked ports for HTTP communication including port 87. These ports are blocked in a lower layer and will not allow the Strategy product to work correctly. For more information regarding the ports blocked by Adobe Flash and additional documentation refer to KB47942 "Dashboard Startup Error #2156" when executing a flash document in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.1 and the HTTP port for the Web Server is not 80 or 8080

ACTION:

Configure the Web Server used by Strategy Web to use a TCP port for HTTP communications that is not blocked by Adobe Flash and other third party products. Refer to the following URL for third-party documentation on the list of ports blocked by Adobe:
