This KB addresses an error seen when executing a report or document against a Vertica database on UNIX/Linux.

SYMPTOM:
Users may encounter the following error message or similar error messages when trying to execute a report or document sourced from a Vertica database with the Intelligence Server on UNIX/Linux in Strategy 9.x or 10.x.

The error message DataConvNotSupported could not be found in the en-US locale. Check that /en-US/ODBCMessages.xml exists

Users may still see the error message even after implementing the steps in the following Strategy Knowledge Base Technical Note:
KB46852 - Certification of Vertica 7.0 with Strategy 9.3.0 on Windows and Linux environments

CAUSE:
This issue occurs due to a typo in the "ErrorMessagePath" parameter in the odbcinst.ini file. The correct parameter is "ErrorMessagesPath". This parameter sets the path to the error messages file that translates the database error codes into readable messages.

ACTION:
Ensure that the Vertica section in the odbcinst.ini file has the correct spelling for the "ErrorMessagesPath" parameter.
