KB482882: Executing a Report with Attributes Only Returns the First Character of the Attribute Elements

Issue

When executing a warehouse or super cube based report, only the first character of the attribute elements is returned in the grid.  For example:
 

Solution

This issue is caused by an incorrect configuration in the Database Connection. The DB Connection is incorrectly defined as UTF8 in the project. The administrator must modify the Database Connection to use Non-UTF8 to resolve this issue. 

• Navigate to the Database Instance under Administration > Configuration > Database Instances
• Right-click the DB Instance being used to connect to the project which is truncating the report grid results and choose "Edit"
  

• When the Database Instance editor opens, choose "Modify"
  

• When the Database Connections editor opens, choose the "Advanced" tab
  

• On the Advanced tab, change the character encoding to be Non-UTC8
  

• Click OK and save the changes
