KB482887 Republishing the Platform Analytics Cube errors with "DSSSQLEngine: Schema loading error..." after Importing a New Object Manager Package

Jing (Sally) Cheng

Senior Principal Consultant • MicroStrategy

Description

After migrating objects through Object Manager and republishing the Platform Analytics Cube, there is an error "Error(s) occurred while loading report: DSSSQLEngine: Schema loading error: ... base form not found.. Error Code= -2147212797"

Steps to reproduce:

  • Create an Object Manager package which includes schema objects from a Platform Analytics source project
  • Migrate the objects into a destination Platform Analytics project
  • From Web, connect to the destination Platform Analytics project
  • Navigate to the Platform Analytics Cube. By default it is located under Platform Analytics/Shared Reports/2. Utilities
  • Right-Click and Republish the Platform Analytics Cube
  • Notice this error:

Why is this happening?

Whenever you make any changes to a schema objects you must indicate to Strategy that new schema object definitions have been included and that these definitions need to be loaded into memory. The Platform Analytics Cube is based on the project schema, and therefore without updating schema after object migration will result in a schema loading error during republish.

Solution

To manually update the schema

  1. In Strategy Developer, from the Schema menu, select Update Schema.
  2. In the Schema Update dialog box, select or clear the following check boxes:
    • Update schema logical information: Use this option if you added, modified, or deleted a schema object.
    • Recalculate table keys and fact entry levels: Use this option if you changed the key structure of a table or if you changed the level at which a fact is stored.
    • Recalculate table logical sizes: Use this option to use Strategy Developer’s algorithm to recalculate logical table sizes and override any modifications that you have made to logical table sizes.
    • Recalculate project client object cache size: Use this option to update the object cache size for the project.
  3. Click Update.
  • You can also update the schema with the last saved settings by clicking the Update Schema icon in the toolbar.
