This article details how to resolve an "org.springframework.web.client.HttpClientErrorException$Unauthorized: 401" error when deploying a Community Connector.

Description

When attempting to deploy a connector on the Community Connectors page, a org.springframework.web.client.HttpClientErrorException$Unauthorized: 401 error appears.

Why is this happening?

The URL to Strategy Web is determined using a webUrl cookie, which is set when first navigating from Strategy Web to the Community Connectors web application. The deploy action in Community Connectors executes an http request to the taskProc part of the Task API in Strategy Web, generated using this web Url. The error then appears when the server hosting Strategy Web responds with an authentication required denial.

Solution

In certain scenarios, this may happen when Strategy Web is hosted in IIS. There is a known issue being investigated under US200243. You may contact Strategy Technical Support for an update on this issue.

Workaround

Manually deploy the connector using the Download functionality in the Community Connector web application.
