KB483578: The error "No data was loaded. Node JS command may exit unexpectedly" appears

There can be many reasons for the "No data was loaded. Node JS command may exit unexpectedly" error may appear. The solution is this article is only for when this error is triggered as a result of Intelligence server not being able to access resources from the internet. This article is for Community Connectors 2019 Update 2 and earlier. This issue has been resolved in Community Connectors 2020.

Description

You encounter the error, "No data was loaded. Node JS command may exit unexpectedly."

The solution in this article can be used under the following circumstances:

  • The I-Server machine can access the Community Connector server. This is also a precondition of using Community Connectors with I-Server.
  • The I-Server machine cannot access the internet.

Solution

  1. In Community Connectors, navigate to the mstr folder.
  2. Open index.html in a text editor. Locate all http or https sources in the head section. For example, for the MSTR connector, you will see https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/babel-polyfill/7.2.5/polyfill.min.js.
  3. Download the http or https resources from the internet.
  4. Store the .js files in the js folder and the .css files in a css folder. If these folders do not exist, create one at the connector's root folder. For example, if you are using the MicroStrategy connector, put polyfill.min.js in the js folder.
  5. Edit index.html and replace the http or https resources with the downloaded ones. If the resource is a js file, replace it with ./js/xxx.js. If the resource is a css file, replace it with ./css/xxx.css. For example, if you are using the MicroStrategy connector, replace https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/babel-polyfill/7.2.5/polyfill.min.js with ./js/polyfill.min.js.
