Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
Null might be returned to an Aggregate From Base (AFB) metric in a data blended dossier/document which involves view filters applied on complicated Derived Attributes (DA). The complicated DA will have both an ID form and a description form. The ID form should be based on multiple attributes, some of which come from different hierarchies like Year and Region while others are parent/child attributes in the same hierarchy like Year and Month. The view filters will be based on the description form of the DA. When the issue happens, the query detail for the grid containing the AFB metric will include a problematic CSI pass as shown in the following CSI example, where the second CSI has a Where clause trying to select 3 attributes from a temporary table called Ex20_tempcube1 while there are only 2 of the 3 selected attributes existing in Ex20_tempcube1 as the first CSI pass shows.
select [Current Month]@[MONTH_ID],
[Year]@[YEAR_ID]
from Ex20_tempcube14
where [Year]@[YEAR_ID] <= [Year_Jan]@[ID]
to Ex20_tempcube1
select [Current Date]@[TODAY],
[Current Month]@[MONTH_ID],
[Current Year]@[YEAR_ID],
[Month]@[MONTH_ID],
[Month]@[MONTH_DESC],
[Year]@[YEAR_ID],
[YOY]@[ID],
[YOY]@[FORM_1]
from Ex20_tempcube21
where (<Current Month, Current Year, Year> in (Ex20_tempcube1))
to Ex20_tempcube22
This is a known issue starting from Strategy 2020 with any Data Engine version.
To fix the data issue, upgrade to Strategy 2021 Update 4 and set the Data Engine Version to be 2020 or above. To set Data Engine Version, refer to How to set Date Engine Version. After the fix, no invalid CSI pass will be generated any more and the data for AFB metrics will be returned correctly.
