Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
Starting in Strategy 2021 Update 9, you may see some visual differences in PDF files exported from the same dossier. For example:
The visual changes on the exported PDF are expected, due to the upgrade of the embedded Chromium version in the PDF export service.
Strategy Export Service generates PDF files with a bundled version of Chromium (used by Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge). The 3rd party software must be upgraded regularly to resolve vulnerabilities.
Among the Chromium projects, LayoutNG is the new layout engine since Chromium 77 and its rendering behavior is constantly updated to improve the user experience or match the latest standards. The new behaviors are also time synchronized in the PDF rendering engine of Chromium.
In the following sections, the first image is behavior experienced before Strategy 2021 Update 9. The second third is the 2021 Update 9 behavior. The third image is a comparison of the two.
Grid column widths are different.
The last row of the grid is on the next page because of different row heights.
Total page number is different. When a grid nearby has a smaller or larger height, some elements are paginated onto a different PDF page.
Text positions in a graph are different.
Text ellipsis have different behavior.
Font kerning has different behavior.
Visualizations that use
<table>have a different layout.
