When exporting a visualization in a dashboard to an Excel file where a metric has been set with a specific amount of decimal places, some cells appear to not respect the decimal limit. E.g. if the metric is set to show two or three decimals after the point, Excel shows more decimal places than that. In other words, the limit for decimal places is not respected once in Excel.
This behavior occurs with .xls or .xlsx files, however, exporting to .csv works as expected.
In this case the comparison is being done between the result in Strategy and the formula bar in Excel and it's the formula bar in Excel that shows the incorrect format. This is expected behavior. Excel's formula bar displays the raw data received from the Strategy Export Engine, and not the formatted data. The formatted data is correctly displayed in the grid's cell.
No action required. As long as the grid's cell in Excel shows the correct decimal place formatting, it is expected that the Excel formula bar displays the raw data coming from Strategy.
