When you pick an option in Filter 1 and then pick an option in Filter 2, the choice in Filter 1 gets cleared. The same happens the other way around - choosing something in Filter 2 clears Filter 1. This stops users from seeing the grid visualization they want using both filters at the same time.
This is happening because the 'Update Targets Automatically' feature is turned on, so the filters don't keep their selections when you use them back and forth. To have both filters keep their choices without canceling the other out, do the following steps.
To fix this problem and make the two-way filtering process smooth, follow the steps outlined below:
1. Open the Strategy Library client.
2. Open the Dashboard you want to modify.
3. Go to the Filter Panel.
4. Right click on the three vertical dots of a Filter.
5. Go to ‘Select Targets.’
6. Untick the 'Update targets automatically' checkbox to ensure that the selections in the filters are automatically updated and retained during the bi-directional filtering process.
Please see this image for a clearer picture of the instructions.

When the 'Update Targets Automatically' option is turned on, changing your choice at a broader level (for example, changing from Midwest to South) will automatically reset your choice at a more specific level (such as choosing a state). This prevents you from accidentally combining selections from various areas.
As described in the screenshot 'Update Targets Automatically' makes filters to automatically unset when the filter selection changes. If a target filter is dynamic, the default selection applies. This setting does not apply to visualizations being targeted by this selector.
