Rainiero Leon

Support Engineer • MicroStrategy

The article outlines the procedure for modifying the default paper size in the 'Export to PDF' function of the MicroStrategy Library. Altering this setting enables users to control the paper size during the export of a Dashboard to PDF format. The detailed instructions provide an easy-to-follow pathway through the adjustment process.

Symptom

Users are encountering challenges when trying to change the default paper size for PDF exports from the Strategy Dashboard. The difficulty arises in finding and modifying this setting within the platform, resulting in exported PDFs being formatted with an undesired paper size.

Cause

The problem occurs when users are uncertain or confused about the exact location and path in the Strategy Library Dashboard settings to configure the 'Export to PDF' paper size.

Solution

To set a specific paper size as default for the 'Export to PDF' feature in Strategy Library, follow these steps:
1. Navigate to Strategy Library.
2. Locate the desired dashboard you want to export.
3. Select the 'Edit' option for the current dashboard.
4. Navigate to the 'File' tab.
5. Inside the 'File' tab, open the 'Dashboard Properties' section.
6. In 'Dashboard Properties', find the 'Export to PDF' section.
7. Underneath the 'Paper Size' option within the 'Export to PDF' section, select your desired paper size.
8. Save the changes and close the dashboard.
9. Reopen the Dashboard, select 'Share', and choose 'Export to PDF'. The selected paper size will now be set as the default size for exported PDFs.
