Strategy Administrators may find difficulty in locating the "Enter Maintenance Mode Via App Server" option in their Strategy environment. This feature is crucial for performing essential server maintenance, and not being able to locate and utilize it effectively can impede regular server maintenance activities.
The situation arises from unfamiliarity with the Maintenance Mode interface in Strategy WorkStation, which includes the "Enter Maintenance Mode (Via App Server)" feature for managing server maintenance tasks.
To locate and utilize the "Enter Maintenance Mode (Via App Server)" option in Workstation, follow the below steps:
1. After adding a new environment connection and connecting to your environment in WorkStation successfully.
2. Right-click on the environment and choose 'Disconnect'.
3. Once disconnected right-click once again on the server instance which you intend to switch into maintenance mode and choose "Enter Maintenance Mode (Via App Server)".
4. You will be prompted to enter your credentials. Please use your Super Admin Account to log in to App Server
(e.g. Tomcat) of Strategy Library.
5. Enter the corresponding credentials and click on 'Connect'
6. The server instance will subsequently enter Maintenance Mode.
Note: To minimize user disruptions, it is advised to schedule maintenance periods during times of low server usage.
