The articles shows how to fix the "The BiMap already contains the value" error which happens when adding additional Intelligence Server node in MicroStrategy Web Admin.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Go to Strategy Web Admin and connect to the clustered Intelligence Server ENV1 containing Node A and Node B.
  2. Add another Intelligence Server, for example ENV2, and click on Connect. The error returns.

Cause

The error message will be triggered when it meets the following 2 conditions:

  1. Those 2 Intelligence Server environments ENV1 and ENV2 share the same ClusterName. To check the value of ClusterName, users can open the Registry Editor on the Intelligence Server machine, and search for the keyword “ClusterName”:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicroStrategy\DSS Server\Castor]"
    ClusterName "="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

  2. ENV1 and ENV2 contain projects with the same project name but different project ID.

Action

ClusterName is not required for a single node Intelligence Server environment. If the same ClusterName is being used for ENV1 and ENV2, users can follow the steps below:

  1. Access ENV2 with the single node Intelligence Server.
  2. Back up the registry.
  3. Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicroStrategy\DSS Server\Castor] in the registry and delete "ClusterName".
  4. Restart the Intelligence Server.
