KB486954: The name of nested prompt in filter cannot be captured in Platform Analytics

Lisha Ma

Senior Cloud Support Engineer III • MicroStrategy

This article explains why the name of the nested prompt in a filter cannot be captured in Platform Analytics.

Symptom

If a report contains 2 prompts, one (e.g. Year prompt) is a standalone prompt, the other is nested in a filter (e.g. Year filter),  the name of the nested prompt cannot be found in the lu_prompt table in Platform Analytics Warehouse.
The report looks like this:

The filter looks like this:

ka0PW00000038YvYAI_0EMPW00000ALbQF.jpeg

In the Platform Analytics warehouse, we can see the name of the standalone prompt, but not the prompt nested in the filter.

Workaround:

Create a standalone prompt and choose it in the filter.

Resolution:

This issue has been addressed in Strategy One March 2024.
