KB487007: Platform Analytics Auto Adoption dashboard missing the Auto Question record for some users randomly

Shuyu Meng

Senior Cloud Support Engineer I • MicroStrategy

This article narrates the issue that users may encounter when trying to access the MicroStrategy Platform Analytics Auto Adoption dashboard to check out the analysis of the questions they've asked bot before.

Symptom

Some users found the out-of-the-box Platform Analytics dashboard "Auto Adoption" missing their Auto Question record, although they've been interacting with Auto Answer recently. This is a cluster environment with a total of two nodes.Cause

In the configOverride.properties file, if the Kafka machine has not been designated manually, the Library server will use the default setting in the configDefaults.properties file, which is "localhost:9092". When a user logs in, there is a 50% chance that this user session will be assigned to either Node1 (good) or Node2 (bad), and those missing data have been sent to localhost Kafka via Node 2.

Action

Add the below two parameters in the configOverride.properties file(e.g. <Strategy>\tomcat\apache-tomcat-xxx\webapps\<Library Application Name>\WEB-INF\classes\config) and restart the Library server (e.g. Tomcat).

  • producer.kafkaProperties.security.protocol=PLAINTEXT
  • producer.kafkaProperties.bootstrap.servers=<Kafka machine IP>:9092
