KB487052: End of Support for Legacy MicroStrategy Office Add-In. Enhance your Microsoft Office 365 experience with the modern MicroStrategy for Office 365 Add-In.

This article describes the enhanced capabilities and seamless transition from the legacy MicroStrategy Office add-in to the modern MicroStrategy for Office 365 add-in.

Starting in December 2024, all current versions of Strategy will no longer support the Legacy Strategy Office plugin, and it will move to Unsupported status. This .NET add-in relies on a set of APIs that have been deprecated by Microsoft. While many of the product’s workflows may continue to work, Strategy cannot guarantee that all product issues that arise can be resolved as the APIs remain unsupported by Microsoft.
This legacy plugin has not actively been developed by Strategy for over three years. It was substituted with a new add-in, MicroStrategy for Office 365, which supports Office 365 applications. Strategy is committed to ensuring that its modern Strategy for Office 365 add-in not only meets, but exceeds, the capabilities of the legacy Office add-in. Strategy continues to invest in Strategy for Office 365, ensuring a smooth transition from the legacy add-in.
