KB487068: Got "Limitation of content length is hit" in NewExportEngine.log or got "content size exceeds the PDF Export Engine limit" in DSSError.log when exporting huge dashboard to PDF

Symptom

• When exporting entire huge dashboard to PDF, you may get below error in Web and DSSError.log.

Cause

 
We have 2 limitations for content size when exporting dashboard to PDF. One is for entire dashboard exporting, which was controlled by setting "exporter.content.limit" in the application.property file. The other is for single page exporting, which was hardcoded, the size is 400MB.

Solution

Before exporting the entire dashboard, please adjust the setting "exporter.content.limit" in the application.property file. The Maximum value for this setting is  2048. If a value greater than 2048 is set, then 2048 will be used as the actual property value.
If you met error when exporting single page of a dashboard, as the limitation is hardcoded, we are not able to adjust it for now. Please filter your data to smaller size.
